Kuveždin Monastery

Due to the rich historical treasury, famous iconostasis and many relics, this is one of the most important Serbian monasteries.

On the southwestern part of Fruška gora, near the village of Divoš, there is a male monastery Kuveždin. This remarkably monumental monastery had a rich treasury and a great amount of land, and under the administration of Kuveždin there were also nearby monasteries Divša and Petkovica. The monastery is believed to be founded in the 16th century by lord Stefan Štiljanović, and the monastery is dedicated to St. Sava and his father Stefan Nemanja. The monastery complex consists of a church with a bell tower, with lodgings on three sides and on the fourth side there is a protective wall. Under the protection of cultural monuments, the monastery was set up in 1990. The monastery is in the process of reconstruction.
