Day 1: Sombor – Bač – Totovo Selo
Our first stop is Sombor, the former center of Bačka-Bodrog County. We’ll visit the county hall, where Ferenc Eisenhut’s monumental painting “The Battle of Zenta” is displayed. Here, we’ll learn about the famous battle and the liberation wars against the Turks. Next, we head to the Sombor City Museum to admire the works of 45 Hungarian artists. Our next destination is Bač Fortress, where a short role-play will bring the atmosphere of medieval assemblies to life. The evening ends with a get-to-know-each-other event, followed by a music and dance celebration.
Day 2: Zenta – Totovo Selo
On this day, we visit the town of Zenta, lay a wreath at the memorial of the famous battle, and learn about the town’s history and role as a cultural center. Then, we visit the Zenta Art Colony, where we explore the works of local and international artists. The afternoon is spent at a traditional village day, where we try various crafts: felting, batik, bead stringing, and tasting local delicacies. We end the day with a trivia game focused on works by Vojvodinian Hungarian writers.
