Program Description:
Day 1:
• Arrival in Subotica: Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a local alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink, followed by check-in at your accommodation.
• Briefing: A short informational meeting and an overview of the planned activities for the upcoming days.
• City Tour in Subotica: Explore the most notable sights and buildings of the city, including the Art Nouveau town hall’s ceremonial hall and the world’s third-largest restored Hungarian Art Nouveau synagogue. During the walk, we will stop at a local café or restaurant for a refreshing coffee or lunch.
• Palic Lake and Wine Tasting: In the afternoon, visit Palic Lake, where after a short Art Nouveau walk, you’ll enjoy a wine tasting at a local winery.
• Dinner on a Farm: End the day with a dinner made exclusively from homegrown ingredients on a local farm, accompanied by live tambura music if desired.
• Evening free time and return to the hotel.
Day 2:
• Breakfast: At the hotel or, if preferred, at a local bakery where you can try burek and yogurt, just like the locals.
• Departure to Senta via Čantavir: Visit Čantavir’s famous church and a local farm that focuses on agriculture and livestock. Enjoy a short tour and homemade refreshments and snacks.
• Lunch in Senta: Enjoy a rich goulash and grilled meats or the famous local fish soup at a local restaurant, complemented by a tasting of homemade brandy.
• City Tour in Senta: Panoramic lookout, Senta Battle Memorial Exhibition, visit to a handcrafted chocolate factory and ice cream shop, with an interactive workshop available.
• Afternoon in Kanjiža: Visit a winery that produces Srem wines, where you can taste wines and enjoy a menu of local specialties.
• Return to Subotica after dinner, followed by free time.
Day 3:
• After breakfast, head to Sombor and the sights of West Bačka.
• City Tour in Sombor: View Ferenc Eisenhut’s oil painting “Battle of Senta,” walk through the greenest city in Vojvodina, with an optional boat trip on the Franz Josef Canal.
• Lunch in Monoštor: Famous Bezdani fish soup with a brandy tasting.
• Visit to a local family apiary: Demonstration and shopping opportunities.
• Walk through the “Amazon of Europe” nature reserve: On foot or by bicycle.
• Dinner at a nearby restaurant in Sombor: Enjoy Balkan cuisine specialties and local wines, accompanied by tambura music.
Day 4:
• After breakfast, enjoy some free time for souvenir shopping in the city center.
• Lunch and wine tasting at a small family winery: Enjoy a Vojvodina family lunch menu.
