Vršac Hill

Because of the unique position of the Vršac mountains, the variety of flora and vegetation, the tranquil landscapes and the gazebo represent an excellent destination for excursions.

The hill of Vršac is the main excursion destination for the inhabitants of Vršac and the surrounding area. The first peak right next to Vršac is dominated by an old church, a favorite excursion site, while there is a new church of St. Theodore in the immediate vicinity, built in honor of the city saint Teodor of Amasea . At the second peak there is a symbol of the city "Vršačka kula- the tower of Vršac". Along the tower, which leads to the asphalt road, there is a paragliding track. Because of the unique position of the Vršac mountains in Banat, variety of flora and vegetation, rich forest ecosystems, relaxed landscapes and viewpoints , the larger part of the forest area of this mountain in Serbia, was protected in 1982 as a Nature Park.
