The neo-gothic Calvary in Bačka Topola is the oldest architectual monument in Bačka Topola.
Cervus (Szarvas) János Ádám Jesuit, and later the Benedictine monk had the vision of this holy place on the right bank of the river Krivaja. The Calvary was built in 1797, and is the oldest monument of Bačka Topola. The fourteen stations were later made in 1878. The neo-goth chapel on Calvary was built in 1898, by the architectual designs of Fazekas Lajos. The paintings were made by the painter Jakabby. Over time, these paintings faded and disappeared, and in the 1990s they were replaced by the works of Prokop Péter, a church painter. There are seven statues, Jesus on the cross, and two sculptures of rouges. The Calvary in 2014 was renovated from the belivers’ donations.
