Saint Stephen’s Day and the Consecration of Bread

A procession, wind ensembles and excellent atmosphere awaits visitors arriving to Sombor during this August consecration of bread celebration.

The celebration starts with the consecration of bread and holy mass in Szent István church. This is followed by a procession on the main street in traditional folk attire accompanied by a wind ensemble. A bazaar is held at Szentháromság square. Folk music and festivities start during the evening by the town hall.
