Roman Catholic Church Visitation in Bačka Topola

Some consider it to be the highest church in the country, some remember the number of its stairs, while others are fascinated by its stained glass and history.

The foundations of the Roman Catholic Church of Sarlós Boldogasszony in Topola were laid in 1904. It is considered to be the most beautiful work of the famous architect Raichle Ferenc. The initiator of the work was Imre Lippay pastor, but the theists also helped. Count János Zichy and his family, as well as the Kalocsa Archbishop, supported the establishment of the church. The stained glass of the windows were made by a Budapest company. In two years, the highest church of the country was built in neo-Gothic style. The height of the tower is 72.7 meters.
