Patriarchal palace

The Patriarchal palace is the administrative headquarters of the Serbian Orthodox church, a cultural monument of exceptional importance and the museum of the Serbian Orthodox church.

"Patrijaršiski Dvor" -The Patriarchal palace is primarily the administrative headquarters of the eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The palace possesses a rich treasurz filled with precious things, art pieces, icons, portraits of the most important ecclesiastical priests. In the palace there are various objects of applied art, libraries of rare and valuable manuscripts and old printed books. Within the palace is the permanent exhibition of items from the 18th and 19th century from the destroyed and endangered churches in Bosnia and Croatia. Today, the building is the permanent residence of the bishop of Srem and the summer residence of the Serbian patriarch. The palace is a monument of culture of the utmost importance and the museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
