Wheelwright’s and Blacksmith’s Workshop

The wheelwright and blacksmith crafts have a long tradition in Bačka Topola, present in the life of the settlement since the 18th century. The workshop in Topola, where wheelwrights and blacksmiths worked together, was a unique facility of this kind in our country. The wagon made by these craftsmen was favored all over the southern edge of the Pannonian Basin. They produced distinctive wheels with special designs and developed specific types of wagons. The workshop was open until 1960, and since the 1980s it has been opened as a museum. The exhibition material is vast and valuable and can not be found elsewhere. The workshop is under the protection of the state.
