Hunting ground “Apatinski rit” is a reservation for water birds and it is located in a typical swampy environment along the Danube river.
The hunting ground represents a natural treasure of invaluable importance, including a complex of flatland forests on the Danube bank south of the town of Apatin. It covers an area of approximately 6,33hectares and belongs to a flatland type. There are several types of game, and the main ones are deer and wild boar, together with roe deer. In the winter period, smaller animals such as wild ducks and wild geese can be hunted. Hunting takes place from hunting blinds, locally called “čeka”. Accommodation and food for hunters - tourists are provided in the beautiful ambient of hunting house "Mesarske livade”. There is a rich menu composed of game and other local specialties.
