Blooming of Tisa Festival in Senta

The Tisa river blooms during June every year and the Tiszavirág (Mayfly, or “Tisza Blooming”) Festival is held in Senta to celebrate this event.

The blooming of the Tisza is a truly unique phenomenon: after maturing for three years, mayflies swim to the surface of the water and fly upwards, thousands at a time, creating a spectacular sight. During the event, visitors can take a boat ride down the river or enjoy concerts and sports activities nearby. The wine square offers wines from a variety of local and nearby wineries.
