The Artist**** Hotel is located in the center of Subotica. Tucked away in a quiet street, under the shade of decades-old trees. The hotel consists of an old, restored building, as well as a completely new section that reflects the spirit of the modern age.
The old building of the hotel was designed by Ferenc Raichl, a renowned architect, art collector, and artist, born in Apatin in 1869, who lived and worked in Subotica, Szeged, and Budapest. He also designed the Raichl Palace, one of the most lavish masterpieces of Subotica's Art Nouveau. The buildings he designed, including the Artist**** hotel, bear the influence of Art Nouveau, a style that also defines the most iconic buildings of Subotica's city center from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Artist**** hotel has preserved original blueprints created by Ferenc Raichl in 1899, and the building has been fully restored to become yet another Art Nouveau gem in Subotica.
