Novi Sad’s international classical music festival is the most compelling festival of its kind in the region.
The international music festival aka. NOMUS is one of Novi Sad's most compelling events. This 7-10 day festival is held during April every year. Concerts take place at three venues: the Novi Sad Synagogue, the City Hall and the Serbian National Theatre. It was first organized based on the ideas of Anton Eberst in 1975. It operated within the influence of Novi Sad Radio during the first six years, growing to become a remarkable event. After a four-year break, Muzička Omladina took over organizational duties and has been reaching success after success ever since. Artists from over 30 countries perform here including renowned local musicians. Previous guest performances include the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Russian Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Soloists, and the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra; and local artists including the RTS Symphony Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Gordan Nikolić, Rita Kinka, Nemanja Radulović and many others.
